Gastronomic Rumblings: R&R

The ever-changing Aspen restaurant scene has some newcomers this summer and I am looking forward to trying out the new menus. I have especially noticed R&R restaurant’s outdoor patio seating, with the umbrellas and lounge chairs it really looks inviting.

Taking over the old “Above the Salt Location,” R&R is located on the corner across from the Wheeler Opera House and in front of the dancing fountain – a perfect location for menu tasting and people watching. Also next door is Jimmy’s Bodega and the Popcorn Wagon (now serving Sushi).

This new restaurant, opened by the owners of Regal, has an abundance of outdoor seating forgoing the traditional table seating and opting for lounge chairs, a champagne bar and a list of appetizers that appear perfect for sharing with your dining mates. The American cuisine includes a variety of salads & sandwiches, which all present themselves as a perfect “light” pairing to your glass of bubbly. I look forward to experiencing this new restaurant.

They are open Tuesday-Friday 11:30am-10pm and open early on the weekends for brunch (10:30am-10pm).
